Plus that special man in your life is not forgotten either, he’ll be taken care of by our menswear experts at Cheshire Menswear , conveniently located on the first floor. This is where you’ll also find our Mother of the Bride/Groom department, Cheshire Occasionwear for that extra special outfit.
On our top floor, we even offer a special Ready to Wear collection of bridal dresses ready to take away the same day, so you can find something simply perfect even if you’re working to a slightly tighter budget or timescale without ever compromising on style.

Here are some of the friendly faces you’ll meet when you come and visit us in store.
OWNER
Emma runs Maria Modes with an infectious enthusiasm and hands-on approach. She never stops trying to improve every aspect of what we do; researching new designers, new trends, and ways to make your experience in store even better. She always goes the extra mile for all our brides and grooms; she’s not one to admit defeat! She never switches off, she just wants Maria Modes to give brides the very best bridal buying experience possible from the moment you make contact with us to the day you get married.
Head of Bridal
Laura has a wealth of industry knowledge as a bridal make-up artist and this transfers excellently into her work here at Maria Modes. So much so she now heads up the Bridal department ensuring all our brides have the very best Maria Modes welcome. And if you’re a fashion forward bride, Laura is the stylist for you, she absolutely loves pushing the envelope and creating the perfect modern day bridal look.
Senior Stylist & Head of Alterations
As our longest-standing team member, Sandra’s wealth of knowledge and calming persona always puts brides at ease that they’re in safe hands with her. Nothing is ever too much trouble and if you’re having a crisis of confidence she’s the best at helping you through which is why she’s the perfect choice to head up our Alterations Department. Those crucial last few weeks before the big day is when you need a friendly face the most! You’ll also find her helping Mums in Cheshire Occasionwear as she’s the trendiest Grandma we know!
Senior Stylist & Head of Menswear
From Saturday girl to head of the Menswear department. Jade has worked at Maria Modes since the age of 16 so knows the place inside and out. Her youthful and positive attitude rubs off on everyone and you just can’t help but get along with her. She may be young but don’t let that fool you, she knows our dresses inside and out, mainly because she’s modelled most of them so can pull out that perfect wild card dress you would never have chosen yourself.
Stylist
With a background in wedding planning, in France no less, trust us when we say Georgia knows about attention to detail. She joined the team in 2024 and is already proving to have that special something needed to help you find your perfect dress. She’s a natural at putting you at ease and walking you through the wonderful world of bridal and when it comes to bridesmaids she’s brilliant at helping you and your girls all find the right dress, in the right colour, to make everyone happy!
Stylist
Olivia joined the team in 2024 leaving behind her styling career for TV shows and adverts. This means she has an eye for what looks good, whilst also hitting the brief. So if you have a really specific look in mind which you don’t know how to bring to life, she’s your girl. If that wasn’t enough of a bonus, Olivia also got engaged last year so she’s living in her bridal era right there with you, how cool is that?!

We know how daunting the world of wedding dresses can be. You’ll be in safe hands with our fantastic team of experts, and we are of course here to answer all your questions. But before we get to meet you, here are some of our most commonly asked questions. We can’t wait to welcome you!

We do not have any private parking but there are lots of parking options nearby, most of which are pay and display.

Once you have your wedding date, we recommend beginning your search 10-12 months before the big day. It is also a great idea to have your venue booked prior to shopping – it can be hard to pick a dress without being able to envision your wedding location and the overall look of your wedding. Our dresses typically take anywhere from 4-6 months to arrive in store, and you’ll want a couple months for alterations. As premium stockists of all our designers we are able to place rush orders on most gowns, if need be, but to avoid extra fees and stress, don’t delay if you don’t need to!
The short answer is yes, but we have a very easy to use online booking system or you can always just pick up the phone and call us! We are almost always fully booked on weekends and evening appointments and during the week is often busy too so we’d hate for you to make the journey and then be disappointed to find we can’t fit you in, but our door is always open if you just want to come down for a nosey first.
Our collection starts from £1,200 and goes up to £6,000, but the vast majority of our gowns are priced between £1,500-£3,000. For the price of a specific designer or dress, please just get in touch.
We may be biased, but dress shopping is certainly the most fun aspect of wedding planning. So it comes as no surprise you may be tempted to bring everyone along! In our experience, more is not always merrier! The more people you bring, the more opinions you’ll hear and the slower your appointment will run. You’ll want to bring guests who understand your true style, give supportive feedback, and will help you look your best. Hearing too many opinions can be overwhelming for even the most confident of brides. Having said that we don’t have a limit on guest numbers, as we know for some brides it wouldn’t be the same without those special guests. We just ask that you give us prior notice so that we can ensure we can accommodate you all, without compromising on our other brides experience in store.
While we are a family-friendly store, we host multiple appointments at a time, and although you’ll have your individual appointment space, children can be a distraction. In our experience, children also get bored quickly, seeing wedding dress after wedding dress. As such, we would encourage you to leave the kids at home and let yourself focus on your dress hunt. If you need to bring children to your appointment, we do ask they are given a separate form of entertainment and remain seated and quiet during the appointment.
Nothing but an open mind! We have everything you will need here already. We have shoes, accessories, hair clips, everything. We ask that you don’t wear too much fake tan as it can rub off on the dresses and its an idea to wear plain / nude underwear so it doesn’t show through on some of the dresses but that’s about it!
Like most bridal boutiques our dresses are priced without alterations included. This is because the amount of alteration each bride needs can vary greatly, so why pay for something you might not need! We typically tell our brides to budget about £300 for their alterations – although this can vary greatly depending upon your specific gown, how it fits, and whether you plan to customise it.
Maybe, maybe not but it doesn’t usually matter. We’ll help you envision how the dress will look on you, even if it’s not an exact fit. Unlike most stores, we stock a huge range of sample sizes, from a UK8 to UK26, and even stock two or three different sizes of the same dress! Some silhouettes, like ballgowns and A-line dresses, are easier to try on even if the size isn’t perfect but we’ll do everything we can to help you feel comfortable and confident during your appointment! We’re experts at using clips and panels to secure the gown for you to see how it will look.
Our stylists are dedicated to finding the dress that will make you look and feel your absolute best. If you have already have some ideas about your dream dress, please include them in your booking questionnaire. Or if you’re coming in blind and have no idea what you want yet, we can work with that, too, in fact, we love a blank canvas! Our experienced stylists will make the search as fun and easy as possible; we love finding you exactly what you’re looking for, even if you don’t know what that is yet. Be ready to leave with your dream dress!
